why we started a newsletter

Can I tell you a weird fact about me? I LOVE snail mail! That feeling of finding an envelope that isn’t asking for money or begging you to buy something. Seeing your name handwritten and immediately recognizing the sender based on the penmanship. It's a rarity these days.

The feeling I get when receiving snail mail is probably the opposite of how I feel with that electronic inbox bings and that little red number grows bigger and bigger.

These days it seems that emails are constantly asking something of us. Advertisements to buy, or subscribe. Workplaces adding to your never ending to do list, reminders for meetings, and receipts for purchases you don’t remember making.

The constant pull for our attention can be dizzying and makes me want to chuck my phone in the nearest body of water.

This sparked an idea for me; what if I could open my inbox on a Monday morning and not wince? What if Maddie and I could penetrate the chaos of the day-to-day and offer a kind word, some good news, some joy.

We’ll share our favorite poems, some good news, a podcast episode or two. We’ll be your cheerleaders, your hype team, your mood boost. We’ll send you a little light, a little laugh, a little love. (sorry I couldn’t help the alliteration)

If that sounds like your jam or if you’re craving peace and kindness in this seemingly dark cold world, subscribe to Just Kindness. We promise won’t clog your inbox or try to sell you some herbal supplement. Just kindness.

With love,

Liz & Maddie,

Courageously Kind
